Our client has an immediate opening for a Sr Network Engineer.
Responsibilities: This position will primarily be responsible for the completion of tasks assigned by clients under Network Support Agreements and Network Service Requests. This position will require significant local travel and will be best suited to a self sufficient individual. It is expected that this employee will have solid network and application troubleshooting and integration skills. Support for platforms/Applications can be divided into primary and secondary. Primary platforms/applications include: Windows 200x Server Windows XP Professional Exchange 200X (Basic system management operations within an existing environment) – creation and modification of distribution lists, contact creation Active Directory Management – user creation, password reset, group management Configuration of centrally managed network based Anti-Virus protection. (Symantec Corporate preferred) Configuration and monitoring of backup software and agents (Backup Exec preferred) Basic printer setup and configuration Understanding of TCP/IP – routable vs. non-routable, gateways, static vs. dynamic Basic understanding of DNS – role of A, MX and Reverse Pointer records Basic hardware abilities – perform drive swaps, add RAM, identify failed hardware Basic networking ability – install and cross-connect a network switch Basic understanding of the Microsoft Office Suite Secondary platforms/applications include: Citrix and Terminal Server Cisco Routers Document Management. Exposure to end-user functionality of Interwoven platform On a daily basis this employee would be expected to: Visit client sites to perform network and desktop support functions. Such visits may be required on a scheduled and un-scheduled basis. In many cases several client sites may require support on the same day. Interface directly with clients and/or client representatives. This will require the ability to communicate often complex technical issues in clear, concise non-technical language.
Requirements:
• 5 – 10 years Network Engineer specific work experience.
• Current / Former Legal experience is a plus.
• Education Requirements Candidate must be a high school graduate or possess a GED. Relevant technical certifications preferred.
