  General Purpose of the Position:









Develop, implement and manage quality control systems designed to ensure continuous production of gravure printed substrates (consistent with established standards, customer specifications and production goals). Supervise a team of quality control inspectors / technicians.


 



 


  Essential Duties and Responsibilities:









 1. Ensure a high level of internal and external customer service. Investigate (and correct)  customer issues and complaints relating to quality.


2. Supervise workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure high productivity and high technical integrity.


3. Develop and analyze statistical data and product specifications to determine standards and to establish quality and reliability expectancy of finished products.


4. Provide technical and statistical expertise to teams.


5. Formulate, document and maintain quality control standards and on-going quality control objectives.


6. Coordinate objectives with production procedures in cooperation with other plant managers to maximize product reliability and minimize costs.


7. Create, document and implement inspection criteria and procedures.


8. Interpret quality control philosophy to key personnel within Company.


9. Provide, and oversee, inspection activity for product throughout production cycle.



10. Apply total quality management tools and approaches to analytical and reporting processes.


11. Interact with vendors to ensure quality of all purchased parts.


12. Maintain active role on internal Continuous Improvement teams.


13. Design, develop and implement quality control training programs.

Computer Equipment and Software Requirements:









Must be proficient in using a PC to perform tasks with Excel, Word, Visio, statistical software and the company business system as required.

Internal contacts include, but are not limited to - hourly personnel, supervision, plant management and upper management.


 


 


 


External contacts include, but are not limited to – customer / vendor hourly personnel, supervision, purchasing, sales and plant management.

Effort / Working Environment:









This position involves working in an office environment as well as in the manufacturing facilities.  This position may require some travel.




 



 


Education and Experience Requirements:









• B.S. degree or equivalent experience.


• Minimum 7 years related experience required.


• Supervisory/management experience.


• Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing techniques.


• Experience with developing/documenting procedures.


• Use of Quality Engineering methods in inspection.


• Computer proficiency.
